Silverback's racing riders took the win at the 2019 Nedbank XC UCI C1 race this weekend in Windhoek, Namibia.

Mariske Strauss won the elite women category past weekend & Silverback’s youngest rider, Luke Moir won the junior men’s race.

Both riders raced on Silverback’s brand new proto-type Stratos and earned valuable UCI points.

“I went into the race with an open mind. Cherrie and I had a good fight at the start of the race,” says Marsike.

“I opened the gap and aimed to open the gap on each of the six laps,” adds Mariske.

“The Stratos handled well even on the big jumps, it rides like a dream and perfect for the Stratos to get back in the XCO,” says Strauss.

Luke flew into Namibia very late and taking a chance of not viewing the full course like other riders.

“The course was dry and dusty, and we flew in late as possible because of

the altitude which places a significant role in my race strategy,” says Luke.

Conditions were very hot, with an average temperature of 24 degrees, Team Silverback dominated the 4,2km track.
